Spiritual Leaders and Saints Gather in Koraput for Kalash Vandan Procession and Special Conference Under the Samaras Sankalp Abhiyan

Bhubaneswar,  Sept 2 [UDN}:A Kalash Vandan procession, along with a Saints’ Conference, was organised at Koraput as part of the “Samaras Sankalp Abhiyan” dedicated to Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji. Several saints and spiritual leaders attended the conference.

The greatness of a person is determined not by birth, but by deeds and conduct. Born into a leatherworker family in Varanasi, Guru Ravidas Ji proved this through his life and became revered for promoting equality in society and bringing reform to religious and social practices.

His poems and couplets continue to guide people and create social awareness even today. One of his famous sayings, “Man changa to kathauti mein Ganga,” means that when the mind is pure, even the water in a small earthen vessel is as sacred as the Ganga.

With such profound thoughts, Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji dedicated his life to eliminating caste discrimination and untouchability. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is commemorating his birth anniversary with respect and paying tribute to his contributions, while calling upon society to uphold the values of equality, harmony and social unity.
