Student Soumyaranjan from Rasulpur has been selected to represent the country in volleyball at the national level, bringing honour to his region and institution.

Rasulpur,July 15 [UDN}:Soumyaranjan Samal, a second-year Plus Two Science student of Upendra Nath Sharda Higher Secondary School under Rasulpur block in Jajpur district, has been selected for the India Under-18 National Volleyball Team this year.
As the only player from Odisha to secure a place in the national squad, Soumyaranjan has brought pride to the state by earning the opportunity to represent the country at the national level. His achievement has created a wave of happiness and pride across the region. Sports personalities, intellectuals, the school principal, teachers, and sports instructors have extended their congratulations and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Soumyaranjan has consistently performed well in academics while nurturing his passion for volleyball since childhood. He has achieved notable success in various school-level sports competitions and has been honored on several occasions for his outstanding sporting abilities.
During a player selection camp held at the KIIT Knowledge Campus in Bhubaneswar, he was given an opportunity to showcase his skills. His impressive performance caught the attention of the selectors. The camp witnessed participation from hundreds of players, coaches, managers, and selectors from different states across the country.
Displaying exceptional talent and sporting excellence, Soumyaranjan earned a place in the national team as the only representative from Odisha. The selected national volleyball team is currently attending a training camp in Bengaluru. Soumyaranjan left on Thursday to join the camp along with the team.
Sports teacher Amar Kumar Sahu expressed confidence that Soumyaranjan will play an important role in helping the national team achieve success.
