Nabarangpur, Sept 23 [UDN}: Srirama Shastri, a teacher at the Eklavya Model Residential School in Nabarangpur town, has brought recognition to Nabarangpur district and Odisha by receiving a national-level honour for his contribution to the field of education.
The award, titled the ‘Uttam Shikshak Gaurav Samman’, was presented at a special ceremony organised by the Star Global Education organisation in New Delhi. Teachers invited from different states across the country were honoured for their outstanding contributions, dedicated service and significant work in the field of education.
According to the information available, Srirama Shastri was the only teacher from Odisha selected for the national-level honour this year.
The award ceremony was attended by noted educationist and former Chancellor of Delhi University Padma Shri Dilip Singh, who presented the honours to the selected teachers.
Shastri’s achievement has brought particular pride to Nabarangpur, a predominantly tribal and relatively remote district of Odisha. His recognition at a national platform in New Delhi has been described by people in the district as an acknowledgement of his dedication, commitment and contribution to teaching.
Srirama Shastri is currently serving as a teacher at the Eklavya Model Residential School in Nabarangpur town, where he has been involved in educating students in the residential school system.
Following his national recognition, an atmosphere of celebration has reportedly prevailed among the school community and across the district. The school principal Subhashini Sahu, along with fellow teachers, lecturers, students, family members and friends, congratulated Shastri on his achievement and expressed happiness over the recognition.
The national honour has also highlighted the contribution of teachers working in educational institutions in tribal and remote regions, while bringing wider attention to the educational efforts being undertaken in Nabarangpur district.
