Bhubaneswar, Oct 16 [UDN}:TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has launched an electric vehicle (EV) to facilitate the convenient marketing and sale of products manufactured at its incense-stick production centre. Alongside the launch, the company also inaugurated a new machine for manufacturing cone incense, marking another significant step towards strengthening the livelihood opportunities of women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Both the electric vehicle and the new cone incense-making machine were inaugurated by Mr Amit Kumar Garg, Chief Executive Officer of TPSODL. Eminent educationist Mrs Manju Garg was also present on the occasion.
The initiative reflects TPSODL’s continued efforts to promote women’s empowerment and support sustainable livelihood opportunities at the grassroots level. The newly launched electric vehicle is expected to make it easier for SHG women to transport and market their products, improve their access to customers, and expand the availability of their goods in the market.
The installation of the new cone incense-making machine is also expected to enhance the production capabilities of the centre, enabling the women to diversify their product range and improve their manufacturing capacity.
Through these initiatives, TPSODL aims to strengthen the economic position of SHG women by helping them market their products more effectively, enhance their livelihood opportunities, and become financially self-reliant. The initiative highlights the company’s commitment to community development, women’s entrepreneurship, and inclusive economic growth.
