Koraput, Aug 4 [UDN}: A District-Level Skill Development Committee meeting was held today under the chairmanship of the Collector of Koraput district. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of various skill development initiatives, strengthening employment-oriented training programmes, and ensuring better coordination among different departments and stakeholders involved in skill enhancement activities.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the implementation of ongoing skill development schemes across the district, identification of new areas for vocational training, and providing more opportunities for youth to acquire industry-relevant skills. The committee reviewed the current status of training programmes, the participation of candidates, placement opportunities, and measures to improve the effectiveness of skill development activities at the grassroots level.
The Collector emphasized the importance of providing quality skill training to unemployed and underprivileged youth so that they can become self-reliant and access better employment opportunities. He directed officials concerned to ensure proper coordination between government departments, training institutions, industries, and other stakeholders to achieve the objectives of skill development programmes.
The meeting also discussed strategies for promoting entrepreneurship, encouraging self-employment, and connecting trained candidates with suitable job opportunities. Special attention was given to expanding skill training facilities in rural and remote areas of Koraput district so that maximum eligible youth can benefit from these initiatives.
Senior officials from various departments, representatives of skill development agencies, and other concerned members attended the meeting and shared their suggestions for improving the skill ecosystem in the district. The committee assured that necessary steps would be taken to make skill development programmes more effective, inclusive, and employment-focused.
