Malkangiri,Sept 16 [UDN}: Malkangiri district administration has achieved a significant national recognition for its innovative administrative and public-welfare initiatives, particularly its flagship youth empowerment programme, “Pragati Pathe Yuva Malkangiri.”
The district administration will be conferred with the prestigious SKOCH Award after successfully clearing the multi-stage and comprehensive evaluation process conducted by the SKOCH Group. Malkangiri Collector and District Magistrate Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke has been officially informed about the recognition.
The award will be formally presented to the district administration during the 110th SKOCH Summit, scheduled to be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the India Habitat Centre on Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
The recognition is being viewed as an important achievement for Malkangiri’s efforts in strengthening youth participation and creating opportunities for young people through innovative grassroots-level interventions.
Speaking about the achievement, Collector Prathamesh Arvind Rajeshirke said the national recognition was the result of the tireless efforts of the district’s field-level teams, active participation of local youth and continuous guidance from the Government of Odisha.
He said the Pragati Pathe Yuva Malkangiri initiative has contributed to empowering the district’s youth and encouraging them to move forward on the path of development and progress.
The Collector also said that the SKOCH recognition would serve as an additional source of motivation for the district administration to further accelerate its efforts towards public service, youth empowerment and developmental activities in Malkangiri.
The award is expected to highlight Malkangiri’s grassroots approach to youth-focused governance at a national platform and bring wider attention to the district administration’s innovative initiatives.
