Heavy Rain and Heatwave Forecast for India

1st April 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rain and a heatwave across various parts of India in the coming days. From April to June, above-average temperatures are expected in regions like eastern and northwestern India.

Starting April 2, temperatures in northwest India may rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius, intensifying the ongoing heatwave. States such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in the next few days, while Gujarat’s Saurashtra and Kutch regions may also face similar conditions.

The IMD has advised the public to take necessary precautions as these weather changes could impact crops and daily life. Additionally, thunderstorms and strong winds are expected in several Odisha districts, with rainfall continuing until April 7. Experts predict the heatwave will persist throughout the month.
