Heavy to Moderate Rain Likely Across Odisha for the Next Six Days, Authorities Urge Residents to Stay Alert

Bhubaneswar,  July 4 {UDN}:  According to the latest weather information, light to moderate rainfall has been continuing since the early hours of Wednesday across most parts of Odisha, including the state capital, Bhubaneswar. Many areas have been experiencing intermittent drizzles along with moderate showers, bringing relief from the prevailing weather conditions.
As per the advance forecast issued by the Regional Meteorological Centre, rainfall activity is expected to intensify across the state over the next six days. The weather department has indicated that widespread rainfall is likely to occur in several districts, with some places potentially receiving heavy showers during this period.

The forecast further states that the first low-pressure system of the current southwest monsoon season is likely to form over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal by the afternoon of July 3. The formation of this low-pressure area is expected to strengthen monsoon conditions and significantly enhance rainfall activity across Odisha.

Residents have been advised to remain alert, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas, as the increased rainfall could lead to localized waterlogging, disruption of traffic, and a rise in river and stream water levels in some regions. Farmers, fishermen, and the general public are also encouraged to keep track of the latest weather updates and follow advisories issued by the meteorological authorities.
