3rd February 2025: A new temple dedicated to Ma Vaishno Devi has been established on Jamukona Hill in the Odagan block of Nayagarh district. Located at an impressive height of 180 feet, the temple features a grand 180-foot-long cave, where the deity is worshipped. The inauguration ceremony saw a large gathering of devotees.
The temple, believed to be the first of its kind in Odisha, was constructed based on the goddess’s vision. The installation ceremony included several rituals, such as the Kalash Yatra, Yajna, and Mahasnana festival, followed by the consecration of the deity’s idol.
The temple complex is beautifully designed, with a park, statues of Durga and Ganesh, and a tranquil setting. To accommodate the thousands of pilgrims, facilities such as lodging, water, and sanitation have been arranged.
This significant event has drawn people from all over, marking it as a key religious site in the region and a symbol of devotion and craftsmanship.
