PM Modi Conferred Ghana’s Highest Civilian Honour: Strengthening Ties Between Two Nations

Accra, Ghana, 3rd July– In a landmark diplomatic moment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded Ghana’s highest civilian honor — The Order of the Star of Ghana – The Officer of the Order. The prestigious accolade was presented by Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo (not John Dramani Mahama, as the presidency has changed), in recognition of PM Modi’s contributions to strengthening India-Ghana relations.

During the official ceremony, Prime Minister Modi expressed deep gratitude for the honor, calling it “a matter of immense pride not just for me, but for 1.4 billion Indians.” He emphasized the historical and cultural ties between India and Africa and reaffirmed India’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Ghana and the African continent.

As part of his diplomatic engagements, India and Ghana signed four significant agreements across various sectors, including trade, education, digital cooperation, and public administration. These pacts are expected to enhance bilateral collaboration and open new avenues for development and knowledge sharing between the two countries.

The conferment of this award highlights not only India’s growing global influence but also its strategic outreach to African nations under PM Modi’s leadership. It also marks a step forward in India’s vision of a more inclusive and multipolar world order.
