Bhubaneswar, Oct 6 [UDN}:TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has launched a Solar Rath in Kandhamal district to create wider awareness about the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and encourage households to adopt rooftop solar power.
The Solar Rath was jointly inaugurated at the Kandhamal Collectorate by Ved Bhushan, IAS, Collector and District Magistrate, Kandhamal, and Amit Kumar Garg, Chief Executive Officer of TPSODL.
The mobile awareness initiative will travel across different parts of Kandhamal district, providing residents with detailed information about the PM Surya Ghar scheme, rooftop solar installations, available benefits and the process for accessing the programme.
TPSODL said the Solar Rath will play an important role in taking information about the scheme to people across the district, particularly by creating awareness at the grassroots level and helping eligible households understand how they can benefit from solar power and government support.
The initiative is expected to strengthen public awareness about renewable energy, rooftop solar adoption and household electricity savings, while supporting the wider implementation of the PM Surya Ghar scheme in Kandhamal.
