Nabarangpur, May 02: The birth anniversary of eminent freedom fighter and former Chief Minister of Odisha, Dr. Sadasiva Tripathy, was observed with reverence at the Municipal Conference Hall in Nabarangpur at around 8.30 AM.
The programme included floral tributes, ceremonial worship, a memorial meeting, and prize distribution. Earlier in the day, at Sadasiva Park, tributes were paid at the statue of Dr. Tripathy.
District Collector Dr. Maheshwar Swain attended the programme as the chief guest. Among other dignitaries present were Additional District Magistrate (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia, Municipality Chairperson Kunu Nayak, District Education Officer Chatrapati Sahu, District Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Behera, Tourism Officer Jagadish Ray, BDO Nabarangpur Sunil Khara, along with family members of Dr. Tripathy including Arjun Tripathy, Muna Tripathy, Sangita Tripathy, and Prabhati Tripathy. Intellectuals, writers, poets, government officials, municipal staff, and media representatives also participated.
Floral tributes were offered by all dignitaries at the statue before the memorial session began. The meeting was conducted at the Municipal Conference Hall, where Additional District Magistrate Tapan Kumar Khuntia and Municipality Chairperson Kunu Nayak attended as guests of honour, along with other officials and family members.
District Information and Public Relations Officer welcomed the guests and coordinated the programme. Speakers described Dr. Sadasiva Tripathy as a great freedom fighter, popular leader, embodiment of honesty and integrity, and a visionary administrator who also served as Chief Minister of Odisha.
On the occasion, prizes and certificates were awarded to winners of debate and quiz competitions held among higher secondary students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sub-Divisional Information and Public Relations Officer Satya Pradhan.
