Bhubaneswar, Sept 24 [UDN}:A deep depression crossed the coast near Kalingapatnam, completing its landfall process at around 11:30 pm. The landfall process continued for nearly three hours.
During landfall, winds reportedly blew at speeds of around 65 to 75 kmph, while the sea surged inland by up to five metres.
The system has triggered heavy to very heavy rainfall in Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha, with rain continuing across Odisha, including the coastal districts.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a Red Warning for Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri districts in view of the possibility of intense rainfall and related weather impacts.
