Couple’s Sudden Deaths Leave 16-Year-Old Daughter Orphaned in Angul

Angul:Oct 7 [UDN}: In a deeply tragic incident, a lawyer and his wife, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), died of heart attacks within a few hours of each other at Jarasingha village on the outskirts of Angul town, leaving their 16-year-old only daughter orphaned.

According to reports, lawyer Pabitra Pradhan (50) complained of severe chest pain in the early hours of Saturday. He was rushed for medical attention, but succumbed to a heart attack.

After receiving the devastating news of her husband’s death at the hospital, his wife Sabitri Nayak (41) reportedly suffered a severe cardiac episode. She was initially taken to a local nursing home in critical condition and was later being shifted to Bhubaneswar for advanced treatment. However, she died on the way.

The couple’s deaths, separated by only a few hours, have plunged their family and the entire locality into grief. Their 16-year-old only daughter has been left without both her parents.

A large number of lawyers gathered at the Angul court premises to pay their last respects to Pabitra Pradhan. Meanwhile, health workers at Bantala Community Health Centre, where Sabitri was serving as an ANM, expressed deep sorrow over her untimely demise.

The sudden deaths of the husband and wife in such a short span have shocked the local community and created an atmosphere of profound mourning across the area.
